SS Mendi Memorial Service - Annual Event in United Kingdom Portsmouth/Southampton & South Africa (Cape town & Pretoria) In Memory of those South Africans who lost their lives in the sinking of SS Mendi on 21st February 1917.
A story of supreme courage, integrity and valour in the face of certain death , 647 of those men perished and they have no graves for those who are left behind to mourn.
