ANZAC Day. Dawn Service at Kings Park. This gathering has a very special vibe when the sun comes up over the city, always memorable. The Aussies are very respectful of their military/police as will be seen by the many RSL's (similar to the MOTH's back in the old country) and monuments around the country and the SAMVOA Vets will be marching again this year in support of our new country and remembering our fallen. We are a lekker social club really, lots of inter unit rivalry and banter, with no membership fees or rank and are always commended on our smart turnout at these functions. So, why not join us at dawn, or at least wish us well marching downtown (we will be behind the Rhodesians and in front of the Sikh's) later, that is another wonderful buzz. If KP is too daunting, then you could attend the dawn service at our mother RSL service in Belmont. Then of course there are beers afterwards at the RSL at 22 Leake Street in Ascot, just off the GEH. See you there!
