2023 ANZAC DAY - Canberra ACT

Facebook Post by Carlo Vlok

It was a small group who marched in Canberra today. We were joined by families and two ADF veterans for lunch after the march. One of them is the president of the Military Historical Society of Australia. The message he sent me is a feather in the cap of all South African veterans therefore I would like to share his message with you and I quote: Thank you for organising the most enjoyable ANZAC day lunch. It is always a pleasant occasion which strengthens the bonds of comradeship forged in military service. The South African veterans always impress me as being friendly. Their ability to forge successful lives and careers in a new country is impressive. I always enjoy talking to them due to the diversity of experience and skills. As the officers used to say in my day “Well done that man”. Stuart also enjoyed it. Warmest regards Nigel. Unquote.

Looking at the photos and videos from all the different regions, I also want to say to all of you. Well done that man!
