Scenes from the Boer War Memorial service this morning held indoors at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne due to inclement weather.
Our SAMVOA wreath was laid by Veteran Lloyd Knowler in memory of our women and children who suffered and died in British concentration camps during the Boer War. We also remember well those brave Boer soldiers and the Australians who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Lest we forget!
Veterans Lloyd Knowler, James Burt and myself accompanied the New Zealand Defence Force representative a Navy Sub Leuitenant who proudly marched alongside us in the short preservice parade.
